About Me

Lena Rexhepi has spent over a decade working in the corporate world across banking and pharmaceuticals, with experience spanning Denmark, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Southeast Asia. She has held roles at institutions including Nordea Bank, Danske Bank, and Novo Nordisk, working within complex, international organisations across markets and functions.

Her career includes establishing a new Novo Nordisk office in London, as well as living and working in New York, Los Angeles, and Malaysia. Alongside her professional work, Lena completed a Master of Science in Business Administration & Information Systems with a speciality in IT Management and Business Economics at Copenhagen Business School while working full time. An experience that reflects long-term commitment, ambition, and perseverance.

Born in Kosovo and raised in Denmark after arriving as a child refugee in 1999, Lena’s perspective is shaped by displacement, identity, and the lasting effects of war, as well as by questions of belonging and the enduring question: Where are you really from? Feeling foreign there and here. This is a story that feels important for her to share.

In her spare time, besides writing, Lena enjoys long walks and sewing. Curb Your Enthusiasm is her favorite TV show, while New Girl is her comfort series, one she can rewatch endlessly. When Harry Met Sally is her favorite film, which she loves for the slow-burn relationship between Harry and Sally and its unmistakable 1980s sense of warmth. Her favorite museum experience is the Kusama installation at the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art in Denmark, and New York City will forever be one of her favorite cities in the world.
